Am I Alone
« on: March 28, 2010, 01:16:11 PM »

Today shared in communion in a way I had never before. Took a piece of bread and dipped it in the wine. Thought of how Jesus said one of those present doing this would betray Him. And they began to each ask, "Is it I?"

I realized that if I asked myself this question honestly I would have to answer, "Yes, it is me." I have been a hireling and not a shepherd. I have dozed and slept instead of watched and prayed. The only victories in my christian life have been received not achieved. It is only by grace and GOD's great patience that I can even identify myself as a christian.

Am I alone?

COULD YOU NOT TARRY ONE HOUR?

Have we not all betrayed the Lord
In maybe one way or another
Snoozing and doozing . . . Wasting time
When we should have been helping our fellow brother

Did we rob from the Lord
Stealing maybe some Glory HE was due
When we should have been watching
Doing what He instructed us to do

Oh I may not have been a hireling
Seeking a little dough for my work
But every now and then
I might have been caught acting like a jerk

My friend none of us are perfect
We are all a work in progress
Look at all of Jesus disciples
Most of them . . . Well they failed the test

Oh yeah . . . While Jesus was out there praying
All His homies were somewhere sleep
My friend . . . So don't you be discouraged
If after taking communion . . . You had to weep

If not but for His GRACE
Where would any of His children be
Oh yes . . . We're all working out our soul salvation
So that when He returns . . . He will surely see

A Church without a spot or wrinkle
A Church that has made it through the pain
A Church that has overcome obstacles
So that eternal life . . . We all may gain

You are NOT alone.........

Matthew 26:40-45

40And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

41Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

42He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

43And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

44And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

45Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Don't kiss me Judas
« Reply #2 on: June 18, 2010, 03:03:18 PM »

Proverbs 27:6; Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Stay where you are Judas; don’t bother to come near;
I know what you’re up to, you smile with a sneer
You rush towards me surrounded by a biosterous band
With puckered lips an olive branch and a dagger in hand

Psalm 41:9; Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Back up now Judas, don’t come any closer. I said halt
You've come for me, let these others free, they're not at fault
Put that sword down Peter, this is not a battle you can't win
The high priest's servant's ear can never cover your sin

Now flee my disciples for my time is at hand
So Judas with a kiss do you betray your friend?
For 30 pieces of silver, for the price of a slave
What a legacy my friend to carry to your grave.

Matthew 26:20-23; Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve. And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

Matthew 26:24, 25; The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

Once you kiss me and wipe my taste from your mouth,
Plunge that dagger in deep. Then pull it back out
Now run my dear friend you have a date with a rope
Pull it tight around your neck you've lost all hope

2 Peter 2:12-22; But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

When We Are Finished
« Reply #3 on: June 30, 2010, 02:03:45 PM »

Quietly we whisper hoping not to be discovered
Our last hiding place cannot be uncovered

Others like me gather in an Upper Room
Except for a miracle facing certain doom

Surrounded by failure on every side
We have no where else left to hide

We had been so certain that we were right
The storm of adversity left us cold in the night

Confused we don't how or what to pray
And then we return again the next day

Arrogance gone we desperately need each other
There isn't an unimportant sister or brother

Brokenness and humility fill every heart
When we are finished GOD can start

.....peace.....

Will The Perfect People Stand Up
« Reply #4 on: July 02, 2010, 09:14:09 PM »

Now I ask this question......
It is note a joke my friend.......
But I am asking because this I must know
Will The Perfect Man Stand Up.....

Now our Father has called on us all
Some of us have answered the call
And somehow we began to fall.....
Yet in the mist of it all...God catch us....

No it is not easy doing the will of God
And yes we come short of His glory
We even act like we don't even belong to God
Yet somehow God finds it in His heart To give us new starts

So I ask again will all the perfect people stand up
Because if you have reached a level of perfection
Then surely there is no need for you...to be on he battle field
For God is always testing us and working on us

See it is man that place faults and blames
God just looks and knows what needs to happen
And He puts a plan together to get us where we need to be
So will all The perfect people stand up and get out the way
For I am still being worked on and I want God to have room

I Am Perfect
« Reply #5 on: July 11, 2010, 06:36:49 AM »

I am perfect in the eyes of GOD
As on a narrow path I trod

Failing to live up to expectation
Leaving behind my reputation

Forsaking all that matters to me
Blinded eyes finally can see

Where I saw fault now I see need
Once deaf ears hear captives plead

Pharisee's words are condescending
Into Death Valley I am descending

Man sees failure but GOD sees success
It is not measured by what you possess

Riches bestowed freely given away
New mercies spring up every day

Empty hands are the greatest prize
I am perfect in my Father's eyes

We'll Be Perfect When My Jesus Comes!
« Reply #6 on: July 12, 2010, 09:47:04 AM »

WE SHALL BE PERFECT . . .  WHEN MY JESUS COMES!

Be ye perfect . . . Therefore as I am perfect
Oh yeah . . . That IS what the scripture said
But in all our weaknesses . . . And yes . . . In all our pains
We must work on maturity . . . Yes work until we're dead

Oh I thank you Jesus . . . For your Precious Blood
That you shed for me . . . On Calvary
Oh Glory Hallelujah . . . For the Holy Ghost
That opens our eyes . . . So that we all may see

That the Holy ONE of Israel . . .
He's the ONLY Begotton Son of God
And when we get our Glorified bodies
Well . . . walking in perfection THEN . . . Oh no . . . It won't be hard

For when Jesus appears . . . Then His children . . . We shall be like Him
In every way . . . In every shape . . . And form
But until He gets here . . . We strive to simply OBEY
Keeping His Commandments . . . And letting our minds transform

Oh yes . . . Change into the image of the very Son of God
Who came to do . . . And OBEY . . . His Fathers will
Oh yes . . . He worked and worked . . . And fulfilled all of *His* call
And every prophecy . . . Oh yeah . . . He did fulfill

But now all of OUR Righteousness . . . Is as but filthy rags
It's only through Christ . . . That we can shine as gold
So until my Jesus comes . . . And comes to gather His Bride
I'm gonna let Him . . . Just continue to mold . . .

Me into HIS IMAGE....

In His Eternal Love & Service,
God's Handmaiden

1 John 3

1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Psalm 119

172My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.

Isaiah 48

17Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

18O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

The Image of Perfection
« Reply #7 on: July 14, 2010, 01:13:51 PM »

From the imagination of the heart a blueprint is made
Carefully carving an image it is elaborately engraved

Flawless is this monument to holy perfection
Those who worship here can see their reflection

But outside the gate beyond the shadow of the steeple
A stranger moves quietly among the common people

Each clinging to their own image disfigured and marred
These unfinished works now brittle and hard

But the words of the stranger stir something within
Thirsty hearts are softened a new work begins

Drinking in hope, forgiveness and light
A glimmer of day pierces the darkest night

The stranger is gone but the miracle lives on
Abundant the harvest from truth that was sown

.....peace.....

Perfection is achieved when others see Jesus not me. Yesterday, a friend saw Jesus.

Hell's flames followed me
Nowhere to hide!
I did what I wanted
I nearly lost my sight

I only wanted to be happy
I hurt those I knew
Justifying my life
People said I was through

Reading His Word
I saw what I became
How could I ever again
Call on His Name?

My soul flew low
To the deep, fiery grave
There was no one
For my soul to save!

My tears hit a wall
I could not eat
But still I approached
His Mercy Seat

Then oh, His Light broke through
My sin-sick soul!
His perfect Love
Forgave, and made me whole!

The enemy tried to steal
What My Lord had done
I refused to doubt
My gift of God's own Son!

His Hand is still stretched out
It is not short to save!
His Mercy is Everlasting
He raised me from my grave!

Re: Am I Alone "To you, Big Brother"
« Reply #9 on: July 21, 2010, 08:48:15 AM »

Hi Big Brother,

I found this poem that I had written for you. You stood in the gap for me when I was being attacked. You were kind and compassionate. In this life, sometimes we are our own worst enemies. I don't think you realize how close I was to crumbling...

We've never met, face to face, but I know that we are related, in Christ, and I'll never forget the kindness and compassion you showed to me when I was at my lowest.

So, when you think you have not made a difference, think about me.

God Bless you, Brother!!

catherine

"For Gordon"

like a soft whisper
this one came,
full of love,
and grace,
having seen his Father’s face,
knowing love
and being loved,
and not treating anyone differently,
but loving all the same,
sharing in love,
and no pushy bullying
was written in his words,
protecting the weak,
and defending the downtrodden.

Surely, Gordon,
Your reward will be great,
And I only hope I can witness
The way you will shine
As you meet the one that loved you,

From the beginning.

The Sower Sows The Seeds
« Reply #10 on: July 21, 2010, 11:12:10 AM »

THE SOWER SOWS THE SEEDS

Surely I too can testify
To the compassion of *this* man
Who sows his seeds of kindness
And on his faith . . . He tries to stand

Never looking for . . . Mans recognition
But he's always pointing folks . . . To the LORD
Not ever throwing out seeds of discord
But spreading SONshine near and abroad

Oh I met this planter many years ago
And a part of MY heart . . . He has become
Oh yes I know the Father smiles on him
Cuz of the souls to the LORD . . . He's won

Oh he's not alone . . . Though at times it seems
As we travel this rugged road
Oh I know Jesus is there . . . And cradling him
Giving him strength . . . And helping him carry his load

Hold on my friend . . . Press on for GOD
Don't you know the Lord . . . Never lets us down
Oh yes He dries our tears . . . And comforts us
When nobody else is ever around

Keep sowing those seeds . . . There's work to do
So many lives may depend on YOU
The harvest is plentiful . . . And the fields are ripe
Unfortunately the laborers . . . Are only a few

Be Ye Perfect
« Reply #11 on: August 10, 2010, 01:54:36 AM »

Perfect in the eyes of GOD but not the eyes of man
What I can't do in my strength in GOD's strength I can

Faith that is real is received not achieved
No longer by the works of my hands deceived

The grace of God Restores And Cleanses Entirely
From the yoke of flawlessness finally set free

Acknowledging my sin "inner ickities" I do not hide
Fully realizing just how poor I am inside

Grieving my past comfort in the scornful seat
Pride that refused to wash the unworthy's feet

Uncompromising I fought to keep my piece of heaven
Refusing the inheritance of the weak (and meek's) leaven

Feasting until I'm full yet nothing satisfies
Unnoticed a sparrow with a crumb flies

I only gave mercy when it was convenient
Always expecting the offender to repent

Great things about GOD I saw that others did not see
When others looked they did not see GOD but they saw me

I worked so hard to make peace among the brethren
Yet unable to quiet the conflict that dwelled within

Rejected by builders as a stone unfit to build
Like a seed that is dropped at the edge of a field

Stepped on so often it disappears from sight
Alone the seed dies before ever seeing light

After the harvest the poor come to glean
Another miracle of a godly life unseen

Perfect in the eyes of GOD but not the eyes of man
What I can't do in my strength in GOD's strength I can

.....peace.....

John 12:24 (NIV)  I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

Her Journey
« Reply #12 on: August 11, 2010, 01:17:58 PM »

In the early morning hours before the break of dawn
A fragile little one steps onto a manicured lawn

Drawn from the darkness by the warmth of a light
The home she had been searching for finally in sight

Her journey to get here had been far too long
She's finally at the place where she belongs

Her peace is shattered when she hears wolves howl
On each side of the house angry guard dogs growl

Frightened she turns back to where she had been
Briars and thorns tear away once tender skin

Blindly she runs as the sound of barking nears
Overwhelmed and consumed by her greatest fears

In a crevice she finds a place to hide
In the cold hard rock nothing gets inside

Knowing her wounds and sensing her weakness
The pack waits expectantly for their breakfast

Knowing from experience to be steal
When she comes out move in for the kill

Block from her refuge then all hope's destroyed
In these final moments her emotions toyed

Biting accusations dignity stripped away
She is unable to resist the words they say

Surrounded by darkness far from the light
She hears someone praying for her in the night

One by one tormenters disappear into the dark
Joining the fight I hear wolves growl and dogs bark

There was silence as the sun begins to rise
All around the voice of truth were defeated lies

Then this little one came and covered my shame
There was no hint of condemnation or blame

I tried to say thanks but he looked over my shoulder
I turned and saw Jesus standing on a boulder

Underneath it the crevice where I had hid
Once again saved by what Jesus had did

Seeing the blood that covered His staff and rod
I realized two that night had been saved by GOD

I turned to see my new friend limping away
Somehow understanding that he could not stay

In the light of the day I spotted the others
Much about them was like my new brother

In this secret place I have finally found rest
Giving up on my dream I "settle" for GOD's best

.....peace.....
